Nubia RedMagic 80W Air-Cooled Wireless Charger Review

Recently, Red Magic launched its first high-power charging station — the Red Magic 80W Air-Cooled Wireless Charging Stand. It enables 80W wireless flash charging for its own Red Magic 11 Pro+ model. The dual coils easily allow charging in both portrait and landscape orientations, and it's also compatible with other Android/Apple models. The wireless charger internally uses an adaptive 5000 RPM high-speed fan that intelligently adjusts its speed based on charging power. Not only that, it also includes a 120W fast charging set, so users don't need to buy additional charging accessories – it's ready to use out of the box, greatly enhancing the user experience.

Unboxing the Red Magic 80W Air-Cooled Wireless Charging Stand

Different from before, this time Red Magic uses black box packaging. The front features the Red Magic brand logo and product name embossed with a 3D hot stamping process.

The Red Magic 80W Air-Cooled Wireless Charging Stand uses a PC flame-retardant plastic shell with a tilted stand design. The Deuterium Silver color paired with the carbon fiber black panel gives a super futuristic element and a full-on hardcore tech feel.

The benefit of the tilted stand design is that it can serve as both a wireless charger and a phone stand, providing users with an excellent experience for using their phone while charging.

The front panel of the wireless charger has a simple carbon fiber texture design, printed only with the Red Magic brand logo, "80W WIRELESS CHARGER", the wireless charging area, and arrow indicators.

The sides of the panel are raised. After placing the phone, this creates an air channel with the bottom air outlet. Additionally, the panel has built-in dual coils, allowing wireless charging in both landscape and portrait orientations, meeting usage scenarios like watching videos full-screen while charging.

The bottom has a fixed non-slip base for support, with dense anti-slip texture that is very effective.

Powering on the Red Magic 80W Air-Cooled Wireless Charging Stand, the LED indicator stays steadily lit during normal wireless charging, and blinks to alert the user during protection or error states.

Charging Set

The Red Magic 80W Air-Cooled Wireless Charging Stand thoughtfully includes a 120W charging set for users, allowing them to choose between wired or wireless charging.

The included cable is a 6A USB-C to USB-C cable. The red and black color contrast design has high recognition. The cable sheath is made of silicone material, making the whole cable flexible and pleasant to the touch.

The measured cable length is about 1 meter.

Using the ChargerLAB POWER-Z KM003C to read the cable information, it uses an lnjoinic (0x2e87) solution, supports 20V5A power delivery, and has a USB 2.0 speed rating.

The included charger is a 120W USB-C single-port fast charger, with a classic vertical slab shape and black shell design. The waist surface has a high-gloss finish.

Using the ChargerLAB POWER-Z KM003C, the charger's USB-C port is measured to support QC3.0/4+, PD3.0, PPS, and DCP charging protocols.

PDO messages show the USB-C port also has 5V3A, 9V3A, 15V3A, 20V2.25A four fixed voltage levels, and 5-11V4A, 5-20V2.25A two PPS voltage levels.

Using the charging set to charge the Red Magic 11 Pro+ Deuterium Transparent Edition, the POWER-Z KM003C measured power is 18.71V 3.83A 71.66W.

Wireless Charging Practical Tests
How does the Red Magic 80W Air-Cooled Wireless Charging Stand perform with different devices? Let's take a look.

Using the included 120W charger to power the wireless charger, the POWER-Z KM003C measured no-load power consumption is about 0.7W.

When placing the Red Magic 11 Pro+ on the Red Magic 80W Air-Cooled Wireless Charging Stand, the screen displays the "Max CHARGE turbo" flash charging UI.

At this time, the output power from the charger end is about 19.75V 4.08A 80.52W.

In landscape orientation, the wireless charging power is 19.75V 4.13A 81.71W.

Using the POWER-Z APP to read the current power, it displays 53.42W.

Placing the OPPO Find X8 Ultra on the Red Magic 80W Air-Cooled Wireless Charging Stand, the POWER-Z KM003C measured power is 9.04V 1.71A 15.51W.

Testing wireless charging for the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, the output power from the charger end is about 9.02V 1.48A 13.35W.

Full Charging Process Test
Next, let's take a look at the charging performance of this Red Magic 80W Air-Cooled Wireless Charging Stand paired with the Red Magic 11 Pro+ Deuterium Transparent Edition. After depleting the phone's battery, the phone and the wireless charging stand were placed in a 25°C constant temperature chamber, connected to power, and data was recorded.

After connecting to power, it handshakes for 20V voltage; within the first 2 minutes 26 seconds, the power climbs to 84.3W, then charging interrupts, re-handshakes the protocol and climbs to 81.1W, then charges at 46W until 27 minutes 12 seconds. The power briefly drops, then charges at 46.9W until 41 minutes 22 seconds, after which the power continuously decreases until fully charged. The entire process took 59 minutes 5 seconds.

Creating a line chart, we can clearly see that using the Red Magic 80W Air-Cooled Wireless Charging Stand to charge the Red Magic 11 Pro+ Deuterium Transparent Edition reached 21.9% in 10 minutes, 50% in 24 minutes 50 seconds, 80% in 41 minutes 9 seconds, 90% in 48 minutes, and a full charge in 59 minutes 5 seconds.

Temperature Test

30 Minutes Charging

After 30 minutes of charging, using a thermal imager to capture the contact surface between the Red Magic 80W Air-Cooled Wireless Charging Stand and the phone, the maximum temperature was 39.5°C.

Summarizing the temperature data, it can be seen that within 30 minutes, using the Red Magic 11 Pro+ Deuterium Transparent Edition with the Red Magic 80W Air-Cooled Wireless Charging Stand, the overall temperature of the phone during charging ranged between 39.3°C and 40.3°C.

Creating a bar chart, we can see that the highest charging temperature peaked around 20 minutes, with the phone's middle frame reaching 40.3°C. At this time, the Red Magic 80W Air-Cooled Wireless Charging Stand was charging the Red Magic 11 Pro+ Deuterium Transparent Edition at about 46W. By 30 minutes, the temperature had decreased. Throughout the process, the wireless charger remained stable, basically around 40°C.
