Nubia WATCH GT Smart watch: AI Health Features and 30-Day Battery Life
With major brands continuously enriching their product ecosystem and gradually expanding into peripheral products, smart homes, office equipment, etc., they are building a complete product ecosystem chain. Therefore, the release of new products is constantly increasing, especially smartphones, smartwatches, tablets, etc., with configurations ranging from entry-level to flagship, targeting full market coverage. At the same time, many brands are also developing their own operating systems, such as Xiaomi, Huawei, and others, further building a system ecosystem. Huawei's HarmonyOS NEXT system has launched the Harmony application ecosystem, becoming the third-largest operating system (smartphones/tablets).

As the end of the year approaches, new products are still continuously being released. In January, another new product has been officially announced, this time it is the Nubia smartwatch, model Nubia WATCH GT, focusing on the experience. In fact, Nubia had previously launched a smartwatch, the Nubia α, which was a flexible smartwatch, but a second generation was not released due to low sales volume. The current smartwatch market is growing slowly, and demand is constantly declining, as some functions can be realized on smartphones.

The new Nubia smartwatch focuses on appearance design, screen, battery life, sports, AI, and other aspects. Although it does not have too many core technologies, it integrates AI health models, allowing the smartwatch to also have AI technology. Currently, major brands all have AI models, and they are applied to smartphones, tablets, and other products. Nubia's AI health model can generate personal health data and provide dietary recommendations, personal fitness plans, and more. It must be said that AI development is expanding into broader fields, no longer limited to simple AI functions.

The new smartwatch features a 1.43-inch circular screen with a resolution of 466*466 pixels and a visual ratio of 87%. The screen type is AMOLED with a display pixel density of 326 PPI. This screen is still quite good and is one of the mainstream designs among many smartwatches. The body frame is metal at the top and bottom, while the middle part is made of translucent material, enhancing the overall visual experience of the watch and highlighting the innovative design style. The watch strap comes in two materials: soft rubber and genuine leather, with color options of black, light brown, and gray.

In terms of battery life, the new smartwatch has a 450mAh large battery, offering 30 days of use in long battery life mode and 12 days in classic use mode. This is quite good, allowing for a two-week charge cycle. At the same time, the smartwatch supports over 100 sports modes, such as outdoor running, hiking, indoor running, volleyball, tai chi, and more, covering almost all daily exercise types. This is also one of the core functions of major smartwatches, providing accurate data for more sports and offering related suggestions to improve the sports health index.

For health monitoring, the new smartwatch supports sleep monitoring, blood oxygen monitoring, heart rate monitoring, and other functions. Its sleep monitoring uses the Nubia 2.0 sleep algorithm, which mainly improves monitoring accuracy, management, and improvement. Blood oxygen and heart rate monitoring support 24-hour monitoring, immediately issuing warnings if abnormal fluctuations occur. The new smartwatch does not support eSIM but supports Bluetooth calls. Overall, the health features could be enriched, but as an experience, it is still acceptable.
