Red Magic 11 Pro+ Review: Ultimate Gaming Phone with Dual Cooling

Once upon a time, there were many gaming phone brands on the market, such as Black Shark, Red Magic, Legion, ROG, etc., and the one that has persisted and continued to grow may well be Red Magic phones.

1. Unboxing: Transparent Flat Aesthetic, Uniquely Distinctive Design

The front features a BOE X10 high-refresh hole-free 1.5K flat screen, adopting an ultra-narrow bezel design on all four sides, with an overall very high screen-to-body ratio, and the first impression is stunning.

The Deuterium-Frosted Transparent Silver Wing differs from the regular version; the back of the body uses a high-transparency glass material, paired with a silver-wing metal mid-frame, presenting a transparent sci-fi texture under light refraction, exposed screw design, industrial hardcore style is fully maxed out, and the texture is excellent.

The Red Magic 11 Pro+, thanks to its extreme stacking craftsmanship, has a camera that does not protrude on the back, achieving a fully flat surface, which is not common among today's flagship phones.

This flat design not only allows the Red Magic 11 Pro+ to sit stably without wobbling when placed down, but also allows the heat dissipation back clip to better fit the core area of the body, improving heat dissipation efficiency, while also not digging into the hand when holding it due to the lens module, and the overall detail consideration is in place.

In terms of heat dissipation, this is a major highlight this time; the Red Magic 11 Pro+ adopts the ICE Magic Cold heat dissipation system. Red Magic, as the pioneer of active air-cooling heat dissipation technology, has gone through seven generations of product iteration, and now has the Red Magic Wind Control 4.0. Compared to the single fan cooling on the market, Red Magic uses a waterfall airway through-type cooling, paired with water cooling and liquid metal, achieving composite active cooling.

Summary: Having gotten used to the generic punch-hole front + protruding camera back solution, the Red Magic 11 Pro+'s combination of a hole-free full-screen front + transparent glass all-silver-metal flat back, plus the fan RGB + water cooling in motion effect, is eye-opening. The cyberpunk attributes and recognizability are fully maxed out, 7500mAh + 120W fast charging + 80W wireless charging are all maxed out; overall, apart from weight and fingerprint resistance, which still have room for improvement, there is basically nothing to fault.

This gaming experience test selects three types of currently mainstream games: MOBA type "Honor of Kings," shooting type "PUBG Mobile," and large open world types "Genshin Impact," "Honkai: Star Rail," and "Wuthering Waves." Gaming mode + air cooling + water cooling mode were activated throughout, testing frame rate, temperature control, and other details.

"PUBG Mobile" continuous gaming for 60 minutes, the frame rate was stable throughout at 89–90FPS (full frame), with frame rate fluctuation controlled within 1FPS. In terms of temperature control, after 60 minutes of continuous gaming, the maximum body temperature was 44°C, slightly warm to the touch, with excellent heat dissipation performance.

Compared to the first two games which were just appetizers, these three high-load games are what really differentiate the experience, as they have extremely high requirements for the phone's performance and heat dissipation.

After 30 minutes of continuous gaming, the average frame rate is 59.8FPS, with frame rate fluctuation controlled within ±0.5FPS, and the gaming experience is smooth. In terms of temperature control, after 60 minutes of continuous gaming, the maximum body temperature is 43.3°C, with excellent heat dissipation performance.

"Honkai: Star Rail" Highest Quality + 120 Frames

After 30 minutes of continuous gaming, the average frame rate is 118 frames, the 5% Low frame rate is 114FPS, overall basically maintaining operation at 118 frames and above. The maximum body temperature is 45°C, with heat evenly distributed across the back of the body. The feel is only slightly warm, with no obvious hot spots.

"Wuthering Waves" Highest Quality + 90 Frames

The experience on the Red Magic 11 Pro+ is AI dynamic performance scheduling + AI game assistance, as well as the Red Magic Ji MORA AI agent, with on-device AI rapid response, millisecond-level interactive game companion, voice control, shortcut commands, and smart reminders.

Daily battery life: Starting at 8am, playing some games at noon, scrolling short videos in the evening, going to sleep at 9pm with 40% battery remaining. With moderate use, I think lasting two full days is no problem.

Software battery life: The 7500mAh large-capacity battery uses high-density cells. Battery Dog endurance actual test, uninterrupted testing for 8 hours, with 20% battery remaining, placing battery life in the top three tier.

In terms of charger, the Red Magic 11 Pro+ comes standard with a 120W gallium nitride charger and a dual-C port data cable, also compatible with mainstream charging protocols such as PD/PPS/QC. The charger is compact and easy to carry.

120W wired fast charging: 20% charged in 10 minutes, 65% charged in 30 minutes, 90% charged in 45 minutes, fully charging the 7500mAh battery in 58 minutes. The charging speed is very fast. Due to the presence of the cooling fan, the overall charging temperature is maintained within 40°C, with good temperature control.

Charge-while-play: The Red Magic 11 Pro+ supports bypass direct-drive charging (charge separation) technology. When charging while playing, the charging current bypasses the battery and directly powers the phone, which not only avoids the body heating up when charging while playing, but also protects the battery and extends battery life. 6. Imaging System: Meeting Basic Daily Needs

The core positioning of the Red Magic 11 Pro+ is an esports flagship, with its focus on performance, heat dissipation, and gaming experience. The imaging system is not its core selling point, so extreme hardware stacking was not done. The rear triple camera combination consists of a 50MP main camera + 50MP ultra-wide angle + 200W makeshift macro lens, with a 16MP under-screen front camera. The following are my actual tests.

The 16MP under-screen camera built into the screen achieves the visual effect of a true full screen. It is hard to notice the lens position without looking carefully. In bright light environments, the shooting effect is acceptable, though there is still some gap compared to flagship models that focus on imaging.

Main camera: During the day, with sufficient light, image clarity and color are fine.

Overall bokeh effect is also acceptable, meeting everyday social media needs.

Telephoto capability: This device does not have a quick button for multiple zoom levels. In actual testing, zooming into objects at around 3x magnification, the clarity is quite ordinary compared to flagships with optical zoom. The 1x zoom effect may be better.

Summary: Both front and rear shooting effects are at an entry-level standard, with a certain gap compared to same-tier flagship models that focus on imaging, especially the lack of a telephoto lens. However, if you only use it for "scanning QR codes," I think there's no problem. For hardcore gamers, the imaging system is just an auxiliary function; as long as it can meet basic daily needs, there is no need to pursue perfection.
