RedMagic 11S Pro is hailed as the ultimate version of the brand's latest flagship model. In many respects, this phone remains consistent with the standard RedMagic 11 Pro: it is equipped with the same dual 50-megapixel rear camera module, a 6.85-inch 144Hz refresh rate AMOLED large display, and a battery with a capacity as high as 7500mAh supporting 80W fast charging.

The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 flagship processor, which RedMagic has overclocked and tuned, delivering performance that surpasses current mainstream flagship models such as the OPPO Find X9 Ultra. Theoretically speaking, it has also become one of the top-performing gaming phones in this review.

I. Quick Overview

The RedMagic 11S Pro is a further optimization built upon the already impressive RedMagic 11 Pro. It offers flagship-level raw performance, lasting battery life, and a screen that is bright, sharp, and responsive to the touch. However, the price has increased compared to the previous generation, and the dual 50-megapixel camera system does not match the expectations of its price tier.

Pros

  • Extremely powerful performance
  • Solid battery life
  • Excellent gaming-specific system features

Cons

  • Camera performance leaves something to be desired
  • Priced higher than its predecessor

II. Design

  • Hard-edged design with a strong esports aesthetic
  • Excellent physical control button experience
  • Equipped with RGB ambient lighting

Phones with a gaming focus tend to have distinctive looks, and the RedMagic 11S Pro is no exception. The overall design continues the style of RedMagic's previous generations, with square, hard lines and a visual impact far stronger than that of conventional slim flagship phones.

The classic design elements of the RedMagic 11 Pro are all retained: the body has sharp edges and a square form; the liquid-cooling window on the body allows a direct view of the coolant circulating inside.

Multiple lighting components are fitted throughout the device to further enhance the esports atmosphere: the RedMagic logo on the back can be lit up, and the active cooling fan on the body also lights up with RGB colors when running. All lighting zones can be customized in color, and modes such as syncing with phone audio, cycling flash, and constant-on can be set, making for a very interesting design.

The physical buttons are a major highlight of this phone and a core design element that sets it apart from ordinary phones. In addition to the conventional power and volume buttons, a pair of touch shoulder triggers are fitted on both sides of the body, offering a control experience comparable to a game controller. A red toggle switch on the right side of the body lets you enter the RedMagic Game Space with a single press, keeping the gaming experience free from interruption. A 3.5mm headphone jack is also retained at the top of the device.

The phone supports IPX8 water resistance and can be briefly submerged in water, but due to the built-in fan structure, it does not have dust resistance, making its protection rating slightly inferior to some competing products.

III. Display

  • 6.85-inch AMOLED | Resolution 1216×2688 | 144Hz refresh rate
  • Peak brightness 1800 nits
  • Clear image, sensitive touch, excellent for both gaming and daily use

RedMagic states that compared to the RedMagic 10S Pro, the 11S Pro has upgraded its screen material, featuring a BOE X10-series AMOLED display. This 6.85-inch large screen has a resolution of 1216×2688, with rich image detail; brightness, clarity, and touch response are all excellent, perfectly matching the positioning of a gaming phone.

The screen supports up to a 144Hz refresh rate, higher than the 120Hz specification of most flagship phones, making the display exceptionally smooth and responsive whether playing games or scrolling in daily use. Users can also manually switch to 120Hz or 60Hz mode in the system settings, or keep the default dynamic refresh rate.

Screen brightness performance is excellent, with a peak brightness of up to 1800 nits, making it clearly visible both indoors and outdoors.

The under-display ultrasonic fingerprint reader is responsive and does not suffer from the poor experience seen in some Xiaomi and Honor models where the fingerprint recognition zone is positioned too low.

IV. Camera System

  • Main camera: 50 megapixels, sensor size 1/1.55 inches
  • Ultra-wide lens: 50 megapixels
  • Wide-angle imaging is acceptable, overall shooting capability is mediocre

Objectively speaking, those buying this high-performance phone will not be placing heavy emphasis on camera capability, but at its price point, it should reasonably deliver a decent standard of photography.

The rear dual-camera setup is identical to the RedMagic 11 Pro: a 50-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization (sensor size 1/1.55 inches) plus a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, with no dedicated telephoto lens.

Overall, the wide-angle lens and main camera produce photos with natural colors and acceptable detail resolution. However, the algorithm deliberately boosts image color saturation and brightness, which deviates from real-world scenes, and it is clearly visible that the manufacturer has applied post-processing tuning to improve perceived image quality.

The front-facing 16-megapixel selfie camera can only meet daily casual shooting needs; finished images show subjects with overly lightened skin tones and heavy smoothing, with detail retention and color rendition inferior to other models at the same price tier.

V. Performance

  • Flagship-level overall performance
  • Top-tier 3D gaming performance
  • Fully upgraded cooling system

Compared to the RedMagic 10S Pro, the RedMagic 11S Pro has comprehensively upgraded its core hardware, bringing performance on par with the standard RedMagic 11 Pro. The device is powered by an overclocked Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor running at full performance output, making it a genuine high-end gaming phone.

In professional benchmark tests, its performance is slightly ahead of the OPPO Find X9 Ultra, which is powered by the same processor. This is thanks to a newly optimized cooling system: an upgraded liquid cooling plus active fan combination, featuring a larger-area vapor chamber, next-generation liquid metal, and a high-speed cooling fan.

The device's 3D performance is particularly outstanding; in the 3DMark Wild Life Extreme test, it scored close to 8000 points, surpassing most mainstream flagship models. The slight disappointment is that, despite using the same chip, its score is marginally lower than the standard RedMagic 11 Pro.

The benchmark results are also reflected in real-world use. Even when facing hardware-demanding titles like Wuthering Waves and Call of Duty Mobile, the RedMagic 11S Pro still runs smoothly. This flagship chip can essentially handle all current mobile applications and games.

Combined with the touch shoulder triggers on both sides of the body, plus its powerful hardware performance, this is a pure gaming phone — not merely a "phone that can play games" — and is more than capable of running various emulators.

Memory is available in 12GB and 16GB configurations, sufficient to handle the demands of large-scale games; the top-tier version comes with 512GB of large-capacity internal storage.

VI. Software and AI

  • RedMagic OS 11 built on Android 16
  • Packed with gaming-exclusive features
  • Some pre-installed unnecessary apps

Many niche-brand phones come pre-loaded with large amounts of useless software and redundant features — a longstanding complaint of mine — but the RedMagic 11S Pro exceeded expectations in this regard.

The device runs the deeply customized RedMagic OS 11 (based on Android 16 at its core), with a rich set of gaming-exclusive features built into the system that precisely fit the product's positioning.

The red toggle switch on the right side of the body gives one-press entry into the Game Space, whose interface resembles a gaming console dashboard for quickly launching installed games. During gameplay, a multi-function floating panel can be summoned to perform operations such as performance adjustment, screen recording, and accidental touch prevention.

The device also features a distinctive function — the Mola virtual assistant, which is popular among anime fans. This is the brand's anime character AI assistant, supporting intelligent conversation; it can also reside permanently on the desktop and provides real-time announcements of phone status such as battery level.

Beyond this, the system retains mainstream native Android AI features, such as Circle to Search and Google's large language model. Combined with the 144Hz high refresh rate display, the entire system operation is smooth and fluid.

VII. Battery Life

  • Battery capacity: 7500mAh
  • Supports 80W wired fast charging
  • Supports 80W wireless fast charging

This phone is equipped with an exceptionally large-capacity battery rarely seen in current smartphones; the 7500mAh battery specification delivers battery life far exceeding most mainstream flagship models, and is also a modest upgrade compared to the previous-generation RedMagic 10S Pro's 7050mAh battery.

In real-world testing under high-brightness mode with daily multitasking use (browsing social platforms, playing music, taking photos, editing office documents), screen-on time reached 8 hours.

The official package includes an 80W European-standard charger, which could not be used in this test. A 66W 6A Honor charger used in daily life was substituted for testing: 30 minutes charged the battery to 50%, and 61 minutes achieved a full charge — still an impressive charging speed. The device also supports 80W wireless fast charging, requiring the use of RedMagic's dedicated high-power wireless charger.

VIII. Overall Summary

The RedMagic 11S Pro is a further refinement on the excellent foundation of the RedMagic 11 Pro, delivering flagship-level raw performance, solid battery life, and a bright, smooth, high-resolution display. The price has risen compared to its predecessor, and the dual 50-megapixel camera system does not match the expectations of this price tier.

The core configuration and user experience of the standard RedMagic 11 Pro are not significantly different from the 11S Pro, yet it costs less. Only hardcore players who demand the ultimate in overclocked performance will truly feel the advantage of the 11S Pro.
