RedMagic 10 Pro+ Review : Ultimate Gaming Phone with Stunning Display
Preface: The All-Around Performance of the RedMagic 10 Pro+ Goes Beyond Benchmarks and Gaming
In our previous review, we delved deep into the theoretical performance and gaming experience of the RedMagic 10 Pro+, revealing how this gaming phone, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Supreme Edition and aided by built-in active cooling technology, not only showcased exceptional low-power performance in medium to low-load games but also demonstrated its unique charm as a hardcore gaming phone with an astonishing "4K+120FPS" frame rate stability when the super-resolution and super-frame modes were activated. However, the highlights of the RedMagic 10 Pro+ don't stop there.
Yet, the allure of the RedMagic 10 Pro+ extends far beyond its impressive benchmark scores and gaming performance. During our hands-on experience, we explored this phone in depth, and from its exterior to its internals, it brought us many surprises.
Exterior: The RedMagic 10 Pro+ Features a 5K New-Generation True Full-Screen Design
The flat body design not only keeps the phone slim and lightweight but also delivers an ultimate visual experience. This design philosophy has been consistently applied in recent RedMagic gaming phones, showcasing the brand's relentless pursuit of the perfect user experience.

When it comes to the "true full-screen" design, some might think it's a pursuit exclusive to gamers, who value a "no-hole" and "no-obstruction" perfect screen experience. However, when one actually lays eyes on the RedMagic 10 Pro+, it becomes clear that the visual impact of the "true full-screen" far exceeds expectations.

On one hand, the "Wukong Screen" used in the RedMagic 10 Pro+ not only boasts a spacious 8.5-inch size but also features a 7mm ultra-narrow metal frame and 2.5mm ultra-thin screen bezels. Its square-shaped design makes it feel as immersive as "holding a screen" when gripped. Even when placed side by side with other models, the RedMagic 10 Pro+'s screen stands out, exuding a unique sci-fi vibe and premium feel that even non-gamers can appreciate.

On the other hand, the screen quality of the RedMagic 10 Pro+ is equally impressive. Thanks to a five-year deep collaboration between RedMagic and BOE, this model is the first to achieve a 5K high resolution and 144Hz high refresh rate on a "true full-screen." Additionally, it boasts a peak brightness of up to 2000 nits, a significant improvement over previous models, and is equipped with 2592Hz PWM ultra-high-frequency dimming technology. It's worth noting that in the "true full-screen" design, the pixel arrangement, wiring, and materials in the under-display camera area are unique and differ significantly from the surrounding areas, making the challenges of improving resolution and brightness far greater than those of hole-punch or notch screens.

While the screen parameters have seen a major upgrade, the side design of the RedMagic 10 Pro+ retains the classic elements of its predecessor. Familiar capacitive shoulder buttons, a circular power button located at the "center" of the frame, and the eye-catching red toggle "Game Key" are all preserved, allowing users to enjoy the new screen experience while still feeling the familiar and comfortable control.

Indeed, the RedMagic 10 Pro+ maintains the same body thickness and weight as its predecessor, but this doesn't mean it lacks significant improvements. In fact, one of the product's highlights is hidden here. Compared to the RedMagic 9S Pro+, the RedMagic 10 Pro+ has seen a substantial increase in battery capacity, from 5500mAh to 7050mAh, yet there's no increase in weight or thickness. This is thanks to the application of a new Niuniu battery solution, whose high energy density characteristics have made this upgrade possible.
Turning to the back design of the RedMagic 10 Pro+, it's easy to see that it continues the classic "Deuterium Transparent" design element, a signature feature with deep roots in the RedMagic series.
The upper half of the back design is particularly striking, with a multi-layer cover structure clearly visible, even revealing some of the internal screws, showcasing the meticulous craftsmanship of the RedMagic 10 Pro+.
Even more impressive is the built-in RGB-lit "Windfire Wheel" high-speed centrifugal fan. When activated, it not only adds a strong mechanical and sci-fi gaming atmosphere to the phone but also becomes a visual spectacle. However, the exterior design of the RedMagic 10 Pro+ isn't just for gamers. In addition to the "Deuterium Transparent" version in black and white, there are also "Dark Night Knight" and "White Day Samurai" opaque versions, clearly indicating that RedMagic has also considered users who want to showcase their personality in daily use.
Next, let's talk about the battery life of the RedMagic 10 Pro+.
It comes with a massive 7050mAh battery, and in our real-world testing, it easily supports a full day of use.
After fully charging the RedMagic 10 Pro+'s battery, we conducted several real-world usage scenario tests to evaluate its battery life. First, we browsed news for half an hour and found that the battery level didn't drop at all.
In the next half-hour online shopping test, the RedMagic 10 Pro+'s battery dropped by 1%. Then, we spent half an hour browsing social media, specifically testing Weibo's power consumption. Surprisingly, just half an hour on Weibo consumed 3% of the battery.
In subsequent tests, we opened a live-streaming app and watched a live stream for half an hour, which consumed 2% of the battery. Following that, we watched long videos for nearly an hour, and the power consumption was similar to live streaming, with a total of 4% consumed in one hour.
Finally, we conducted actual gaming power consumption tests. First, we played "Honor of Kings" on the RedMagic 10 Pro+ for half an hour at high-definition settings and 120FPS, which consumed about 5% of the battery, leaving the phone with 85% charge. Then, we played "Genshin Impact" for half an hour at maximum settings and 60FPS, and the battery dropped to 78%.
After four consecutive hours of use, including an hour and a half of web apps, an hour and a half of online videos, and an hour of gaming, the RedMagic 10 Pro+'s battery dropped from 100% to 78%, a total consumption of 22%. Based on this data, the phone can support up to 24 hours of continuous video playback, nearly 7 hours of continuous "Genshin Impact" gameplay, or 16 hours of mixed usage.

Why does the RedMagic 10 Pro+ have such outstanding battery life? Apart from its massive battery capacity, two other factors cannot be ignored. First, in our actual gaming tests, the RedMagic 10 Pro+ demonstrated an efficient power-saving strategy under low loads. Second, the Redmagic OS 10 system it runs has almost no pre-installed apps or ads, which also contributes to its battery life.
Of course, besides excellent battery life, the RedMagic 10 Pro+'s fast-charging capability is equally impressive.
It features 120W air-cooled fast-charging technology, the fastest charging solution we've tested this year. Faced with a 7050mAh battery, this technology ensures efficient charging speeds, delivering an exceptional charging experience.
The RedMagic 10 Pro+ comes with a 120W charger that has a peak output of 20V and 6A. Those familiar with RedMagic's past products might know that the brand previously offered a 165W fast-charging solution. So, does the 120W fast-charging on the RedMagic 10 Pro+ feel like a step back?
Although the 120W fast-charging on the RedMagic 10 Pro+ is nominally lower than 165W, the actual experience is no less impressive. In our tests, it might even be the fastest 120W smartphone fast-charging solution we've seen this year. Notably, in the first five minutes of charging, the RedMagic 10 Pro+ managed to charge 27% of its battery, showcasing an astonishing charging speed.
By the 11th minute of charging, the RedMagic 10 Pro+'s 7050mAh battery had reached 50%. At the 15-minute mark, the battery level soared to 69%, meaning that in just 15 minutes, the RedMagic 10 Pro+ had charged nearly as much as a 4800mAh battery, demonstrating its exceptional charging efficiency.
As the charging process neared completion, the RedMagic 10 Pro+'s charging speed gradually slowed, indicating that it had entered a battery maintenance mode to ensure the battery's longevity.
In the end, our test unit of the RedMagic 10 Pro+, equipped with a 7050mAh battery and paired with the original 120W charger, took only 27 minutes to go from 1% to 100% charge. This speed is nearly seven to eight minutes faster than other 120W fast-charging models on the market with only 6000mAh batteries, showcasing significantly higher charging efficiency.
The reason behind the RedMagic 10 Pro+'s rapid charging speed is multifaceted. Firstly, it uses a higher-cost, high-power battery that balances capacity and fast-charging performance, undoubtedly boosting charging efficiency. Secondly, the RedMagic 10 Pro+'s powerful cooling configuration also plays a role. Its built-in fan not only cools the SoC during gaming but also automatically activates during fast charging, providing additional cooling support for the battery and ensuring stable fast-charging power output.
Next, let's explore the imaging design of the RedMagic 10 Pro+ and the unique effects it brings.
First, on the hardware level, the RedMagic 10 Pro+'s rear camera module features dual 50MP cameras, including an OV50D40 (with a 1/1.88-inch sensor and 50MP resolution) with an f/2 aperture for capturing ultra-wide-angle shots, and an OV50E40 (with a 1/1.55-inch sensor and 50MP) with an f/1.88 aperture for wide-angle scenes. Additionally, there's an OV02F10 auxiliary camera and an under-display front camera using the OV16A1Q 16MP sensor, offering a comprehensive imaging experience.

In our analysis of basic zoom samples, we observed that the two rear cameras on the RedMagic 10 Pro+, despite not having the largest sensors, maintained good consistency in white balance. Moreover, its zoom algorithm is sufficient to handle the needs of 2x to 4x zoom in daily life.

At the same time, although the RedMagic 10 Pro+ doesn't heavily promote its imaging capabilities in official materials, our tests showed that its OV50E main camera handles non-extreme close-up shooting scenarios with ease. Compared to other 1/1.56-inch solutions we're familiar with, its performance is on par. Notably, the RedMagic 10 Pro+'s color tuning shows a certain level of accuracy, with less algorithmic processing evident compared to previous models.

Particularly impressive is the performance of the HDR algorithm in complex test environments with both indoor point light sources and outdoor high-contrast scenes. The RedMagic 10 Pro+ can clearly reveal details in outdoor highlight areas while fully restoring indoor shadow areas without any "crushed blacks."

Portrait Sample Showcase: At ISO 103, 33mm focal length, f/3 aperture, and 0.01-second exposure, the RedMagic 10 Pro+ captures vivid and natural portrait details.

Portrait Sample Showcase: At ISO 103, 33mm focal length, f/3 aperture, and 0.02-second exposure, the RedMagic 10 Pro+ also performs excellently in portrait photography, with precise focus that easily highlights the subject in a crowd. Notably, the RedMagic 10 Pro+'s portrait mode defaults to a 35mm focal length crop, thanks to the integration of Nubia's imaging algorithm.

However, when discussing Nubia's deep imaging expertise, we must mention the "Galaxy Night Scene" feature on the RedMagic 10 Pro+. This feature excels in night photography, delivering exceptionally clear images with contrast far superior to daytime shots, offering photography enthusiasts a new visual experience.

When we challenged the RedMagic 10 Pro+'s photography capabilities with darker scenes, it delivered remarkable results. The city nightscape photos it captured not only had high contrast but also made light sources stand out prominently, rivaling current "imaging flagships" on the market.

Think the RedMagic 10 Pro+'s photography is limited to dark scenes? In fact, it also inherits many "camera family" features from imaging flagships. For example, users can easily capture star trails, the Milky Way, and even use generative AI to create unique "super moons." While this goes beyond traditional photography, it undoubtedly adds endless fun and aligns perfectly with the RedMagic 10 Pro+'s product characteristics.

In summary, the RedMagic 10 Pro+, as a pure "gaming phone," not only stands out in gaming experience but also showcases its impressive imaging capabilities, growing alongside its users.
Additionally, the RedMagic 10 Pro+ excels in performance and battery life. It features top-tier performance configurations and one of the largest battery capacities among flagship models. With proper tuning, this phone delivers a stunning "full-screen" experience in daily use, along with battery life that lasts a full day or more, ensuring users never have to worry about running out of power.
However, the RedMagic 10 Pro+ doesn't just stop at excellent daily performance.
