1. Preface: A Thinner and Lighter Flagship With More RedMagic Flavor Appears

Since Apple started the trend of Air ultra-thin models, various manufacturers have followed suit and launched their own Air phones.

But in fact, RedMagic had already launched the RedMagic 10 Air model earlier than the iPhone 17 Air last year.

To be honest, the product strength of this model is quite impressive, but it always makes people feel somewhat distant from RedMagic’s consistent brand temperament.

REDMAGIC 11 AIR Review

The reason is simple. As the pillar of RedMagic’s gaming phone brand, a model focused on performance and gaming experience is naturally contradictory to the Air concept that pursues extreme thinness and lightness.

After all, high performance and sustained performance release require a thicker body to accommodate them, while thinness often has to compromise on performance.

But this time, this sense of contradiction seems to have been broken, and we have welcomed an Air model that has more “RedMagic flavor”.

The protagonist is the RedMagic 11 Air we have today.

REDMAGIC 11 AIR Review

Why say it has more RedMagic flavor? It is hidden in RedMagic’s iconic design and core configuration.

It continues RedMagic’s transparent design aesthetics: this time the RedMagic 11 Air achieves RedMagic’s first full-series transparent design, and the slightly curved glass back cover provides an excellent grip feel.

It is the first Air to be equipped with an active cooling fan: as the leader and pioneer of active air cooling, having a fan brings more “RedMagic flavor”. This Turbo Fan 4.0 can achieve a sustained 24,000 RPM, and combined with a large air exhaust volume and efficient heat dissipation channels, it quickly expels heat from inside the body.

There are also RedMagic shoulder triggers, supporting the fastest 520Hz trigger rate and anti-sweat design. Not only can they map buttons in games, but they can also complete one-key command operations through macro buttons.

In terms of battery life, it also inherits RedMagic’s signature capability. Within a 7.85mm body, it carries a huge 7000mAh battery and 120W Magic Flash fast charging. The claim that Air phones have poor battery life simply does not exist in RedMagic.

Below is the detailed parameter table. Next, let us take a look at how this new Air that combines performance and thinness performs!

2. Appearance: Continuing the Brand’s Full Transparent Aesthetics

REDMAGIC 11 AIR Review

The transparent design on the RedMagic 11 Air is truly eye-catching. According to the official statement, besides the “Quantum Black” color we have in hand being transparent, the other two colors “Stellar White” and “Aurora Silver” are also fully transparent.

The internal design of the transparent appearance incorporates various geometric patterns such as racing tracks and vinyl records, which complement the “Quantum Black” color of the body. The black design hides the sharpness of technology, integrating a product concept full of futuristic technology into a low-key black tone.

The camera Deco adopts a simple raised design, with the overall shape forming an inverted L. The main camera and ultra-wide camera are placed horizontally at the top, while the flash ring is located at the bottom. In the middle is the newly equipped active cooling fan on the RedMagic 11 Air.

As the pioneer and leader of active cooling fans in smartphones, RedMagic has finally made up for the most important missing part on the previous generation RedMagic 10 Air. This fan has already iterated to the fourth generation, called “Turbo Fan 4.0”. The fan speed can continuously reach 24,000 RPM. At the same time, there is a high-low blade difference design, which can provide stronger airflow and air pressure at the same rotational speed.

Combined with RedMagic’s self-developed ultra-high density capillary reflux solution and super-thick Ice Step VC cooling, the entire cooling module works together to achieve an effect greater than 1+1.

REDMAGIC 11 AIR Review

On the side we can see the heat dissipation outlet of the fan. This innovative air-cooling bracket creates an efficient heat conduction design, which can quickly discharge core heat through the active cooling fan, maintaining the temperature stability inside the body.

RedMagic has also added touch shoulder triggers on the upper and lower sides. Combined with the vibration tuning of the linear motor, it provides excellent tactile feedback in games. This shoulder trigger has the industry’s fastest 520Hz trigger rate in hardware design, not only with extremely fast response speed but also with a large sensing area and exclusive anti-sweat design, ensuring accurate trigger operations in every battle.

In addition to mapping screen touches, the shoulder triggers also support various macro operation settings. High-level operations such as one-click aiming and shooting, one-click invincibility and equipment switching can all be easily achieved.

More rarely, after inserting the fan and shoulder triggers, the body thickness is still only 7.85mm, truly worthy of the name Air.

However, it should also be noted that due to the touch shoulder triggers and the fan, the phone’s volume button and power button are placed lower, which requires some time to get used to during daily use.

3. Performance: Air Cooling + VC Dual Enhancement, Thin Yet Powerful

RedMagic 11 Air is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Supreme Edition, UFS 4.1 storage, and LPDDR5X Ultra memory.

Although it is a pity that it does not use the latest fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 Supreme Edition, this performance trio is still among the top tier of mobile performance today.

Compared with the theoretical maximum performance of the SoC, sustained thermal performance is the key. The industry-first ultra-thick Ice Step VC on the RedMagic 11 Air can greatly increase the vapor space to enhance heat equalization capability, and the double-sided raised structure allows the VC plate to be closer to the core heat area, improving heat transfer efficiency.

Combined with active air cooling, it truly enables fearless performance under sustained high-pressure gaming. This “Turbo Fan 4.0” not only supports dustproof and waterproof design, but also provides ultra-high speed with ultra-low noise, further improving the gaming experience.

Let us test the gaming performance in practice.

Honor of Kings

We cannot demand too much from the imaging capability of this phone. Under non-direct sunlight conditions, the performance is acceptable. The sky is clear and blue, and building details are clear.

5. Battery Life: A Thin and Light Battery Life Ceiling That Subverts Cognition

If there is one place on the RedMagic 11 Air that is least “Air”, it must be its massive 7000mAh battery. The battery capacity even surpasses many current thick flagship phones. Powerful gaming also requires long battery life to truly eliminate anxiety.

Along with the huge battery capacity, it also supports 120W ultra-fast charging, which is extremely rare charging speed on today’s more stable silicon-anode batteries.

So how is the actual charging and battery life performance? Let us test it.

Charging Test

REDMAGIC 11 AIR Review

When the battery was at 1%, we turned on the fast charging mode and started charging. The charging time was 58 minutes, and the maximum charging power was 73W.

RedMagic’s charging protocol is interesting, using a mixed charging protocol of four-times voltage and two-times voltage. When charging reaches about 65%, it switches to double voltage while increasing current to ensure power supply speed.

The specific charging speed is shown below:

REDMAGIC 11 AIR Review

17% in 5 minutes, 31% in 10 minutes, 56% in 20 minutes, and 79% in half an hour. The speed of topping up power at any time is quite powerful.

Battery Life Test

For the battery life test, we used the professional battery test tool produced by Kuai Technology — Battery Dog.

In the test items, the default test runs until 20% battery level. All test items including CPU high pressure, CPU multi-threading, AI recognition, image browsing, video playback, and web browsing are checked. By simulating user usage scenarios, it restores real load to the greatest extent and approaches real power consumption.

During the test period, to keep environmental variables unified and ensure the accuracy of results, Battery Dog automatically adjusts screen brightness to 50%, turns off automatic brightness, and sets the volume to 30%.

REDMAGIC 11 AIR Review

RedMagic 11 Air lasted 11 hours and 58 minutes. Nearly 12 hours of battery life leaves many Air models far behind, making it easy to last a full day of use and more than sufficient even as a primary device.

6. Summary: With a True Full Screen and Powerful Battery Life, Are There Any Rivals?

RedMagic 11 Air is undoubtedly a phone full of RedMagic spirit. It creates a truly new fusion form of Air and gaming phones.

It continues the family design and active cooling fan, becoming a rare combination that merges thinness and performance — two seemingly contradictory features. It brings a new choice to the increasingly homogeneous smartphone market, carving out a unique path between Air models and gaming phones.

Compared with the short battery life of ordinary Air models and the bulky feeling of traditional gaming phones, the RedMagic 11 Air achieves a two-way transcendence and can be called the pioneer and leader in this segment.

In this RedMagic Air model, it is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Supreme Edition, paired with LPDDR5X and UFS 4.0 performance iron triangle, forming the most powerful Air phone in performance so far.

In our performance tests, all three games can run at full frame: Honor of Kings at 144 frames, Genshin Impact at 60 frames, and the most demanding Honkai: Star Rail also at a stable 60 frames. The 6.5W sustained heat dissipation capability is unique among Air models.

At the same time, the 7000mAh battery and 120W fast charging are a dimensional strike against ordinary Air models. The previous problems of slow charging, small battery, and short battery life simply do not exist.

Overall, the RedMagic 11 Air reaches ceiling-level performance among similar models in the three core dimensions of performance, battery life, and heat dissipation.

For users who pursue flagship performance and gaming experience while also desiring a thin and portable body, or for consumers who need a thin body + ultra-long battery life secondary phone, the RedMagic 11 Air is an irreplaceable excellent choice.
