REDMAGIC Gaming Tablet 3 Pro: Dual-Chip Power & 165Hz Display

With the continuous improvement of game graphics quality, a 120Hz refresh rate has covered major models, while a 144Hz refresh rate is developing synchronously, mainly appearing in mid-to-high-end models and gaming phones. There are also 165Hz and 185Hz refresh rates, which are not widely used in new models, supported only by some gaming phones and gaming tablets.

In terms of resolution, smartphones have developed up to 4K, but the most widely used are 1.5K and 2K resolutions, while 1080P resolution is adopted only by some models, usually low-end and entry-level devices. Whether the refresh rate or resolution is high or low depends on the positioning and cost of the new model.

At the same time, the new REDMAGIC model officially went on sale on August 11. This time, the model is the REDMAGIC Gaming Tablet 3 Pro Deuterium Front Transparent Silver Wing Edition, while the Tritium Front Transparent Dark Night Edition is already on sale. The highlights of the new tablet are the e-sports display, dual gaming chips, touch chip, game engine, etc. As expected from a gaming tablet, most of the highlights revolve around e-sports development.

As a gaming brand, REDMAGIC's smartphones and tablets are all gaming-oriented, with a primary focus on performance, followed by appearance design, inseparable from e-sports and a sense of technology.

The new tablet is equipped with dual gaming chips. First is the Snapdragon 8 Elite flagship chip, manufactured using the 3nm process, combined with Qualcomm’s dual super-large core architecture, greatly improving performance while reducing power consumption. The chip features LPDDR5T, reaching up to 9600Mbps, and UFS 4.1 Pro, with a 36% improvement in read/write performance.

Next is the Red Core R3 Pro, supporting concurrent super-resolution and super-frame functions to enhance image quality experience. It is also equipped with the Super Competitive Image Quality 3.0 engine, improving image stability performance by 30%, with super-resolution rendering reaching up to 3.8K precision, making picture details richer.

In terms of heat dissipation, the new tablet features both passive and active cooling structures, such as an active cooling fan, Liquid Metal 2.0, and a sandwich VC structure, with a total of 13 layers of heat dissipation. Among them, Liquid Metal 2.0 is located at the center of the CPU and battery chips, forming a bidirectional circulation system to improve cooling efficiency.

For gaming performance, it is equipped with a self-developed CUBE Tian Engine, achieving intelligent performance allocation to improve performance utilization. With the support of two core chips, the dual-core performance is further improved, allowing smooth game operation and silky visuals.

The screen size is 9.06 inches, with the refresh rate increased to 165Hz, native touch sampling rate at 240Hz, and instantaneous touch sampling rate reaching 2000Hz. Peak brightness is 1100 nits globally and 1600 nits locally. As an OLED screen, with independent pixel-level light control, the brightness and darkness changes are more delicate, with a dynamic contrast ratio reaching one million to one.

In terms of eye protection, the familiar Star Shield eye protection technology is used, with ultra-high frequency PWM dimming improved to 5280Hz, and support for DC-like dimming, blue light protection, low flicker, etc., maximizing eye protection. At the same time, it is equipped with a new Synaptics touch chip (S3930), mainly to improve touch accuracy and response speed.

In terms of imaging, the front camera is 9MP, and the rear camera is 13MP, meeting needs such as daily photography, video conferencing, and facial recognition. The new tablet’s battery capacity is only 8200mAh, unfortunately not breaking the 10,000mAh mark, but it can last 33 hours for drama watching.

Fast charging supports 80W wired, charging to 50% in just 22 minutes, and also supports bypass charging technology, the same as the REDMAGIC gaming phone. Other configurations include 4D vibration, physical key fingerprint recognition, ultra-linear dual speakers, NFC, and physical gaming keys. The Deuterium Front Transparent Silver Wing Edition is available only in 12GB+256GB and 16GB+512GB, starting at 3999 yuan.
