Nubia Flip 5G smartphone and the Pad 3D Ⅱ tablet will both debut at MWC 2024

With the continuous rise in popularity of foldable smartphones, Nubia has recently announced the release plan for its first foldable product - the nubia Flip. According to Nubia officials, the new product will be unveiled at 14:00 on February 26th during the ZTE Terminal Series New Product Launch Conference at MWC 2024. At that time, Nubia's first 5G+AI naked-eye 3D tablet, the nubia Pad 3D Ⅱ, will also be released simultaneously.

From the design details revealed by the official poster, the nubia Flip adopts a vertical folding design, with the inner screen equipped with a centrally punched four-curved display screen; the rear camera module adopts a circular plate design, with the camera placed on the circular edge, and the central part is a circular secondary screen.

Currently, this new machine has appeared on the telecom equipment terminal network, and related configuration information has also been revealed. The nubia Flip foldable screen is equipped with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor with a main frequency of 2.4GHz, providing two memory versions of 8GB and 12GB, as well as two storage spaces of 256GB and 512GB. The dimensions of the machine body are 170×75.5×7.0 mm, weighing 209g; the main screen is a 6.9-inch OLED flexible folding display with a resolution of 27901188, supporting a 120Hz refresh rate; the secondary screen is a 1.43-inch OLED circular display with a resolution of 466466. In addition, this new machine is equipped with a built-in 4180mAh rated capacity battery, rear-mounted with a 50-megapixel main camera + 2-megapixel depth-of-field lens, and a front-facing 16-megapixel selfie camera.

The nubia Flip is likely a renamed version of the Libero Flip previously launched by ZTE in overseas markets. It is reported that the Libero Flip offers three color options: gold, white, and blue, with a body width of 76mm, a thickness of 7.3mm when unfolded, a thickness of 15.5mm when folded, and a weight of 214g; the main screen adopts a 6.9-inch flexible display with a resolution of 2790x1188; the outer screen is a 1.43-inch circular display with a resolution of 466×466, supporting functions such as taking selfies, recording, viewing steps, weather, and controlling music by calling the camera.

The machine is equipped with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor and only provides a storage configuration option of 6GB + 128GB; it has a built-in 4310mAh battery, supports 33W QC4+/PD3.0 fast charging, and the official claims it can be fully charged in about 73 minutes; it supports side fingerprint recognition and face recognition, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC; it supports IPX2 waterproof and IP4X dustproof, and the hinge hover angle is 60~110 degrees.

As for another product from Nubia, from the official warm-up, the new generation nubia Pad 3D Ⅱ will support 5G network and have some AI function upgrades. In terms of appearance, the nubia Pad 3D Ⅱ continues the design style of the previous generation products, with some changes to the rear camera module and basically the same front, and is expected to continue to use 3D light field display technology - by integrating a dedicated DLB layer under the LCD display to achieve naked-eye 3D display.

For reference, the nubia Pad 3D made its debut at MWC 2023 and started pre-sale in the domestic market in June of the same year. This tablet is equipped with a Snapdragon 888 chip, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage space; it has a 12.4-inch LCD display with a resolution of 2560x1600; pre-installed with Android 13 system, built-in 9270mAh battery, equipped with symmetrical quad speakers, supports Dolby panoramic sound and dual-microphone noise reduction.
