Is your phone still overheating? The cold winter has passed, and the temperature is slowly rising, but the phone seems to know in advance and quickly begins to heat up.

Although the efficiency of phones has been continuously improved, and every effort has been made to increase performance while controlling power consumption, with the continuous improvement of 3D phone screens and game frame rates increasing from 60 to 120 or even 144, it can be said that this is a "big test" for phones.

For gaming, a cooling fan is a practical and convenient way to deal with overheating. However, not all phones can adapt to mainstream clip-on cooling fans, and their larger size makes them less portable. Therefore, a new type of cooling fan has emerged, the magnetic cooling fan. Red Magic recently released the all-new RedMagic Magnetic Cooler 4 Pro, with a compact design that is more convenient to carry and can be said to be more suitable as a companion for your phone than a clip-on fan.

As clip-on fans require two clamps, they sacrifice portability to a certain extent. However, as a magnetic cooling fan, the RedMagic Magnetic Cooler 4 Pro has certain advantages. Its appearance is simpler, with only a circular main body and a large radiator on the bottom, which is equipped with rubber anti-slip treatment and the word "REDMAGIC" on top.

The top of the fan is equipped with a cooling fan and fins, and the fins are all designed in red, similar to Red Magic's overall design philosophy. The overall structure is supported by a translucent plastic design with some black treatment. From a top-down view, the Red Magic logo is in the center, surrounded by an RGB light ring, with a black texture decoration on the outer edge. The side below the Red Magic logo has a USB Type-C port to power the fan, and there are no buttons in the overall design, making it very simple.

After connecting to a power source, the RedMagic Magnetic Cooler 4 Pro will start automatically, and the light ring on the front of the fan will cycle through multiple RGB colors naturally. The black and red color design combined with the translucent plastic design when not connected to a power source has a more sci-fi feel, while the RGB effect after being turned on is very e-sports-oriented.

Since the RedMagic Magnetic Cooler 4 Pro does not have any buttons, control is naturally handled by the app. Before use, you can download the Red Magic Equipment Library app, which can be searched in various app stores or scanned from the QR code in the manual. With Bluetooth turned on, you can quickly bind the device through the Equipment Library, and the connection experience is very seamless.

In terms of settings, the functions are very intuitive and easy to understand. You can control the fan's on/off switch and speed, which are easy to understand. As for the RGB effects on the fan, there are many more options. On the one hand, you can control the light effect switch, and on the other hand, you can choose between flashy, breathing, constant, and colorful water flowing modes, and select individual colors for more personalization. There is also a firmware update button, making upgrading easy and hassle-free.

Of course, as a radiator, its cooling effect is the most important thing. As a magnetic suction radiator, the first thing that comes to mind is to test it with an iPhone. The iPhone 14 series comes with Magsafe magnetic suction, so there is no need to add accessories to use it. It is very convenient. At the same time, the iPhone is relatively powerful in terms of performance, and has a relatively high demand for heat dissipation. It is a very suitable experience platform. However, if there is no Magsafe magnetic suction, there is no need to worry. The RedMagic Magnetic Cooler 4 Pro has a magnet inside, which can be attached to the back of the phone and can be magnetically sucked for use. Let's experience it with the iPhone 14 Pro Max without delay.

In terms of testing, "Genshin Impact" was chosen as the game for testing. In terms of image settings, the highest image quality that can be turned on was enabled, and the 120-frame mode was turned on to test the game's frame rate performance. However, although "Genshin Impact" can turn on the 120fps mode on the iPhone 14 Pro Max, the frame rate can only exceed 60 under limited conditions, bringing a smoother experience. Therefore, whether the system can recognize that it can exceed 60 frames is an important factor in whether the heat dissipation is effective.

First, we played "Genshin Impact" without the radiator and experienced it once. It can be seen that the game can only increase the frame rate in a few situations, and it even "jumps" to a high frame rate only a few times. Afterwards, the frame rate can only be stable at around 60. It can be said that the system basically judges that the adjustment does not allow high frame rates, which is limited by temperature.

After a 15-minute experience of "Genshin Impact", we measured the surface temperature of the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Without using the radiator, the temperature at the upper right corner of the back of the phone was the highest, reaching 41.5℃, which is already somewhat "hot". The highest temperature on the front of the phone is the position corresponding to the upper left corner chip, which is 34.5℃. Under such temperature, the system cannot run at 120fps, and it is understandable.

Next, we attached the RedMagic Magnetic Cooler 4 Pro and continued the test with the fan set to the maximum. The game settings were the same as before, and the test continued in the same scene. After the test, it is obvious that the system recognizes that there are more situations where it can turn on 120fps, and the frame rate changes brought by the game can be felt more smoothly. Even after a period of time, it can still be seen that the increase in frame rate is still more than when the radiator is not used, and the experience is better.

After 15 minutes of testing, the surface temperature of the phone was measured. After using the radiator, the temperature at the upper right corner of the back of the iPhone 14 Pro Max dropped to 31.1℃, which is lower than the temperature on the front without using the radiator. The highest temperature on the front is in the upper left corner, which is 27.4℃. It can be said that the heat control is very in place, and the phone is no longer hot, which greatly improves the user experience.

After the experience, if I had to choose a good companion for my phone, I would definitely choose the RedMagic Magnetic Cooler 4 Pro. Its main advantage is portability and convenience. It can quickly dissipate heat
